Second Father's Day Without My Son

This is my second Father's Day without my son, Cash Gaudio.

Early yesterday morning I was going through years of photos of us together on Father's Days past — and somewhere in that, reading Mark 6, I was convicted. It's where Jesus tells His disciples to go. Don't over-prepare. Start small. Take nothing but a staff.

For nearly two years I disobeyed that. I stood still. I waited for the right moment, enough money, enough time, enough spiritual qualification. I told myself I was too arrogant to write about this publicly. That I'm unredeemable. I'll spare you the rest of the list.

But how can I ask God to redeem my failures a hundredfold while I ignore His Holy Spirit prompting me forward every single day?

So last night — with extreme help from God — I stopped waiting.

I launched MyOnlySon.com. Eight book covers. A starting line drawn in the sand. One book for each year of Cash's life.

I know not everyone will accept this new, fully surrendered version of me. Some clients, some opportunities, some people may fall away. I'm not going to carry that or internalize it. I'm going to shake the dust off my feet and keep moving.

If you want to walk with me, here's how:
Go to MyOnlySon.com and leave your name and email. Proceeds support the Live Like Cash Gaudio Foundation, providing scholarships to student-athletes in Cash's memory.
And if this stirred something in you — share it. You never know whose obedience you might unlock.

"Take nothing for the journey except a staff… and if any place will not welcome you, shake the dust off your feet and move on." — Mark 6:8-11
